We are still finding our way around buying food, how much things cost and what is easy to get hold of. On Thursday Richard's friend Alex, who he knows from home and who is also doing the Gaulier course, and his girlfriend Lily came round for supper. It's been really nice having them here to hang out with, and be in the same situation with. We wanted to have festive pumpkin for supper, and Richard did the shopping. He came back much later having shopped all over, with a weird purpley squash thing with skin tougher than a rhino's. He had to completely decimate it with one of our spoon-sharp knives in order to get its flesh, so no jack-o-lantern in the end. There were no chillies anywhere, and peanut butter for the curry was about 7 euros and only available at one shop. So we're learning what to eat here bit by bit.On Saturday we went to visit the open studio of the artist we met on Wednesday. We felt a bit intimidated walking up the stairs - it was a huge building, and the studio is five flights up. We walked into the main room and met Suisse straight away. He was very welcoming and showed us all around. The studio is about 800 square meters with 30 artists working there, and about 10 who live there too. We stayed a couple of hours, and met the different artists and saw lots of different work - we also got two invites for shows in the next couple of weeks, so watch us on the scene! It was an exciting afternoon. I was so impressed by how prolific a lot of them seemed to be - there was just so much work they were getting done.

The studio looks fascinating - any space for you??????? You would go mad I should think! Love the hat - yours I mean - and the picture of you and Richard in the stripey tunnel - is that the entrance to the studio? I don't know what it feels like to you, but you seem to be having so many different experiences - I suppose partly because you're having to explore and partly because Paris IS different. Great to read about! xx
